At Koyurugi point, there is the Koyurugi Shrine with its lengthy history.Until the Edo period, the shrine was called the Hachioji-gu.The enshrined god is a syncretistic fusion of the Gozu Tenno and the god Susanoo.

enno Festival (Mikoshi carried into the ocean)
Every year in July, a festival is held and the Mikoshi of the Yasaka Shrine in the Enoshima Shrine's precinct is carried out and goes to the Koyurugi Shrine.

What kind of festival is it? Can you hear the sounds? It is the beginning of the festival.

Yasaka Shrine
This is the Mikoshi of the Enoshima Yasaka Shrine. It is said that the item held up on the Mikoshi used to be the enshrined god of the Koyurugi Shrine that was adrift and found in the ocean on a stormy day by a fisherman from Enoshima.

The night before the festival "Yoimiya"
On the day before the festival, the Mikoshi will go through the shopping area and be kept at the temporary shrine.

Tojin-bayashi (foreign festival music)
The festival music that has been passed down to the new generations is chanted in turns by age group, from old people to children.
